Although we are still waiting for urban landscape, flying cars, and private Jetsons-styled saucers, the automotive industry has already fulfilled a lot of other promises it made several decades ago. For the future cars, it is believed that 30 years from today, we will see private flying cars on the roads (or in the skies) but the cars after the next ten years promise to offer you the following features.

Built-in Systems that Warn or Avoid Collisions

Many car manufacturers including Toyota, Honda, Ford and Chevy are already providing built-in collision warning systems. In the future, the computer or radar assisted warning systems will connect two or more cars and automatically operate them to avoid collision. The only accident then would be planned or planted.

Night Vision Aided Systems

The future cars will help you drive in the darkest nights with night vision systems. Some BMW and Mercedes models already have infrared night vision systems but by the next ten years, even the cheapest cars will have this feature.

Everything Voice-Controlled

The blessings of Artificial Intelligence will help you direct the car just by giving directions to it. More futuristic cars will also respond to your directions and give you suggestions. Apple’s Siri is the basic form of this concept.

Gesture and Face Detection

The securer future will allow you to unlock your car with face detection technology and detect your fingerprints or gesture to identify the owner. Many Honda, Toyota, Mercedes, BMW, and Chevy models have face and fingerprint detection feature right now.

Car Trains

Reducing collision does not refer to increasing the gap between two or more cars. In the future, the computer or radar aided cars will connect with each other and automatically maintain a distance on straight roads. This will help reduce the road gaps and increase the ground for more vehicles.

Driverless Cars

Google’s driverless car that travelled 200,000 miles automatically is a basic example of driverless cars of the future. Rolling over the curves, controlling speed on jumps, reducing collisions, frictionless parking, and every other thing that you expect from your driving skills would be served by your driverless car.

Smart Intra-Cars Communication

The computerized or radar operated cars will be connected to not only decide the driving patterns but also to note the efficiency, speed, and features of other surrounding cars. This vehicle-to-vehicle wireless communication is expected to be the strongest tool for safer traveling.
It seems that the future cars will be safer but less personal. If safety is the priority feature focused by the automotive experts, then we say YES to the future cars!
